Job Description

REPORTS TO: General Manager or Manufacturing Plant Manager

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for coordinating plant and office administrative functions including Human Resources, accounting, Worker’s Compensation, month-end closing and providing reports to management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Administer employee benefits including vacation, open enrollments, 401k, disability enrollments and management, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, payroll, employee status changes and all employee terminations, either directly or indirectly through direct reports. Act as a resource for issues regarding plant policies or procedures. 
  2. Coordinate advertising, recruiting, screening, interviewing and hiring of all hourly job applicants to meet plant staffing requirements. Coordinate orientation training for new hires, insuring readiness for placement on production teams.
  3. Direct and oversee the daily activities of administrative clerks. Perform annual reviews and support development of direct reports.
  4. Assure that hourly employment records are properly maintained and that reviews, wage rate changes and other human resources functions are performed in a timely manner. Assure accuracy of annual/ monthly reports and federal compliance documentation. Review hourly attendance reports, forwarding disciplinary notices to General Manger.
  5. Supervise administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, checking accounts, petty cash, freight and other miscellaneous billing as requested. Complete the monthly bank statement reconciliation in a timely manner. Perform necessary month-end inventory reconciliation and provide monthly financial performance reports. Perform quarterly audits of hourly wage rates and deduction accounts.
  6. Coordinate local community service programs and internal employee activities for plant. Maintain relationships with vendors (vending service, phone service, etc.) and resolve issues as necessary.
  7. Coordinate plant safety procedures, including incident reporting, OSHA 300 log, and Worker’s Compensation case management. Actively participate in plant safety activities as requested. Coordinate and direct annual compliance training for hourly employees.
  8. Maintain relationships with plant vendors (such as phone service, utilities, vending service, landscaping, and office cleaning) and ensure resolution of related issues.
  9. Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.
