Job Description

We are a progressive manufacturer of PET beverage bottles, supplying the Coca-Cola bottling system on the East Coast and in the Midwest.  We are seeking candidates for the following positions at our Enka, North Carolina Corporate Headquarters: 

Corporate Materials Manager

REPORTS TO:  Director Manufacturing Services

BASIC FUNCTION:   Responsible for support services related to scheduling, transportation, material purchasing, and related capital projects at all locations.  Coordinate facilities scheduling activity to efficiently meet all customer requirements.


Supervise the performance of member(s) of the Manufacturing Services team. Work with the team to achieve department goals and support the needs of the production plants.

Interface with other departments at all locations to coordinate efforts focused on improving costs and production efficiencies.  Coordinate the scheduling activity in all plants to meet customer requirements. 

Maintain Dynamics data bases and related programs that impact sales orders, scheduling, production planning and inventory.  Utilize production planning tools and reports, including customer forecasts, resin forecasts and plant updates to allow for cost effective distribution of products and adequate inventory.  Review sales trends to project and identify potential supply issues and coordinate resolution of issues that do arise.  Communicate results and expectations to General Managers and Schedulers.    

Monitor cost reports for all aspects of the department, including freight and dunnage purchases to ensure the lowest possible costs.  Review min/max inventory tools for all products with schedulers seasonally (at least bi-annually) and assist with compliance. 

Train employees, as required, in system programs, methods of scheduling, production reporting, transportation cost analysis, inventory, and any other areas in which training is required to develop employees, improve efficiency, improve accuracy, and reduce duplication of efforts.  

Develop relationships with member customer corporate purchasing contacts to achieve supply synergy between organizations with a focus on improving communication.    

Coordinate and communicate plans between multiple departments and/or vendors as related to quality issues, new product introductions, special projects and product trials.   

Work with non-member customers to develop strong relationships and assist with relationship building with other SEC departments and production facilities.  

Assist as necessary with EOM and EOY activity. Submit annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly reports on a timely basis.     

Monitor vendor compliance with BRC standards, including maintaining vendor records and auditing vendors as needed.  

Assist the Manufacturing Services Director as requested.  Aid the team during absences and assist other team members when necessary.





Job Requirements

Materials management experience in a manufacturing setting required

Degree preferred

Strong computer skills

Dynamics or other MRP/ERP system experience preferred

Scheduling, Inventory, Forecasting, Purchasing experience preferred

Customer Service experience preferred

Transportation experience preferred

APICS certification preferred

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
